or puzzle books are often given a difficulty rating,
for example easy, medium, difficult and very difficult.
The way the difficulty of a sodoku puzzle
is determined is surprisingly not determined by the
number of "givens". A computer solver can
determine the difficulty based on the complexity of
the rules required by the computer.
